STREET ART TAKES MILAN’S TOWN COUNCIL


Artistic Exchange at Palazzo Marino, Milano
A project that combines the past of Georges de la Tour with the contemporary art of the present: during the night of 9 January, the wall that comprises the backdrop to the exhibition was completely painted by six young artists. It will be reconstructed and put on show at the “Superground” space on the southern outskirts of Milan (Romolo), a location that was built on the remains of an old workers canteen and which now hosts a variety of artistic, social, cultural and theatrical activities. The exhibition is free and will be open to the public from 14 to 31 January, from 10 am to 7 pm daily.

I was invited from Art Kitchen collective to spend ten days in Franciacorta, a beautiful area in the north of Italy, to paint a serie of big sized canvases for this upcoming show to promote this territory and his delicious sparkling wines. Don Vinico is a project I’ve been working on since a year together with Grandes Vinos y Viñedos a wine production company based in Cariñena, Spain. HOLLYWOOD

Together with the gallery  Prospettive D’Arte we organized a “Pop-up” show of artworks I had realized during the last years in the club Hollywood Living. Hollywood living is a very fashionable club usually attended by most of Milan’s team soccer players. The show will run during the month of October and November 2011.

VENEZIA BIENNALE 2011

This video was screened during the 54th Venice Art Biennial 2011 and won the first prize for best documentary video.

VENICE

WALLS OF FAME MILAN

I was invited to collaborate with the City Council of Milan on a project called “Walls of Fame”. The aim was to renew two buildings in the periphery of Milan creating 4 murals inspired on famous personalities of the city. I decided to portrait the famous Milanese painter Caravaggio, the holy Virgin Mary wich is a golden statue symbol of the city, Alessandro Manzoni who was a poet and a writer and Filippo Tommaso Marinetti, the founder of the Futurist movement.
On another building I decided to portrait foreign artists who always had been a great source of inspiration for my art such as Frida Kalho, Keith Haring and Andy Warhol. All murals were realized in Milan during May 2011.

During 2011 I developed  a cobranding project with the famous italian brand Seven. In the collection  we builted together the world of Seven and the world of Tvboy’s urban art come together with the emblematic title “Love Music”. Who is it that doesn’t get emotional listening to their favourite group at a concert? With this collection, Tvboy & Seven declare their love for two musical style which have always been synonymous with rebellion and protest – Hip Hop and Punk.
