Artwork presented at Art Verona Fair 2010 by Angel Art Gallery. The artwork is called “Vucciria”.

During the months of May, June, July, August & September 2010 I presented in Milan a big personal exhibition called Mash Up. It tooks me a whole year to prepare all the pieces of the show which were almost 50 new artworks divided between big sized canvases, medium size artworks on paper, and a huge sculpture and a enormous spraypainted Pvc on the outside.
The concept behind the exhibition was to create a “Mash-up” of images from contemporary culture following this major quote: “Art, don’t lock yourself up inside your rooms, keep in touch with the street kids.” The Location SuperstudioPiú, Via Tortona 27, Milan (www.superstudiogroup.com) was an huge industrial space in which take place every year very important meetings in the fields of Art, Fashion and Design such the Milan Furniture Fair, the “White” Fashion Fair and Contemporary Art Fair. Thanks to the big effort of my colleaugues at Art Kitchen we builted up a very professional and ambitious exhibition divided in three main sections. More than a thousand visitors came to the opening, Here some pics of the show…
La Roca Village, outlet village member of the chain Chic Outlet Shopping commited me an illustration campaign called “La Vuelta al Cole” – “Back to School”. In the photos you can see the advertising on the Spanish Newspaper “La Vanguardia”and photos of the promotional event at La Roca del Valles, Spain.

Coinciding with my last personal exhibition the company Skira published a book with my works with an introduction text by the curator of the show Jacopo Perfetti, a brief history of my career through photos and commentaries from renown art personalities such as Philippe Daverio, Elio Fiorucci & more.
You can find the book in almost all italian art libraries and other selected shops.

The city council of Leonforte, a small town in the middle of Sicily, invited me to create a Mural for the Aniversary of the 400 years of the Foundation of the City. I took the inspiration from the local people. In the wallpainting you can notice some Leonforte’s oldests inhabitants with the traditional “coppola” hat seaten in front of thebars looking at people passing by. A young waitress is carrying a pizza and a beer. On the backwards stands the mount “Cernigliere” with his Virgin sculpture. A man is carrying some boxes full of peaches, one of the tastier local products. On the backwards stands the mount “Cernigliere” with his Virgin sculpture and also some local monuments such as the “Granfonte” Fountain, the “Branciforti” palace, the “Scuderia”. Also you can’t miss the typical local young boy with sunglasses driving fast with his scooter and his mother going to buy some food… Last but not least the Lion as the symbol of the city of Leonforte which literally means “Strong Lion”. Many thanks to Turo, Antonio, Moreno and Giuseppe for their big help.

The Catalonian Socialist party invited me to interpret through a poster his slogan “Seguiexo creint en – I still follow believing in” and to continue the sentence with a word which was representative for me. I thought about the theme of participation, the need to involve the people and make them trust your words. So I took the famous U.S. military poster with the “Uncle Sam” and adapt it to the new concept.
